Waterford - Smizer Design has won two awards at the 28th annual Connecticut Art Directors Club Awards Show, a Connecticut awards competition in which the state's advertising and graphic design creativity is judged.

 

The winning designs, chosen from 680 entries, included a Silver Award in the Sales Promotion category for a direct marketing piece, "Tossing Profits," for TBH Business Advisors.

Smizer Design developed a 3-dimensional design utilizing a customized miniature trash can containing a pink "While you were Out" slip hand personalized to its recipient, a crimpled one-dollar bill, a candy wrapper, and a brochure titled "How much profit will you throw out today?"

Smizer Design also received an Award of Excellence in the packaging category for Dr. Lankin's Awesome Almonds. Ken Lankin, a Connecticut physician, created Awesome Almonds.

Charged to create the identity and packaging for this product, Smizer Design used the almond's heart healthy properties to create the product's identity and produced the unique cone-shaped packaging as a reference to the festival cones nuts are often served in at carnivals.
