Have you considered making sugar-free Awesome Almonds®?

Our modest use of sweetener is vegan-certified beet sugar.
We’ve tried making "sugar-free" Awesome Almonds®, but haven’t found a good way to do it. We realize some of our customers, friends, and family are diabetic. Some adhere to a "low-carb" diet or just want to cut down on their sugar intake.
There are a number of technical challenges. The sugar (and we only use vegan-certified beet sugar) actually serves an important purpose in roasting the almonds and sealing in the flavor.
When we tried using no sugar, the almonds would burn. Sugar substitutes like stevia and agave syrup do not lend themselves well to the roasting process. Splenda® and xylitol are not considered appropriate ingredients for an all natural product like ours.
We experimented with our recipes to get a good "roast" with the least possible sugar.
