Women in Sweden Consuming Fiber have Lower Incidence of Heart Disease
Lund University in Sweden has followed the diets of over 20,000 people to examine the effects of some nutrients in relation to cardiovascular disease. The results showed that women who ate a diet high in fiber had 25% less chance of suffering from heart disease than those women who ate a diet low in fiber. The men in the study did not show as much of a difference in heart disease but the men eating a good amount of fiber suffered fewer strokes.
